It's raining, but it's a soft, straight rain, so I've had the windows open and just taking in the smells of the spring rainy season. Just a little while ago, I noticed that all the cats were lined up along the shelves under the front window, staring. I started over to check out what they were looking at.
And just before I got to the window, the stray donkey they were watching in the front yard; brayed!
The tribe scattered in 5 directions (Hobo went straight up), and AT LEAST 2 of them, claws fully extended, ran right over my bare feet.
I've called the neighbors, and they're on the way with sweet feed and a halter to take Penelope home, the cats are coming out of hiding, and I'm swabbing and patching all the holes in my feet.
May be time to invest in some heavy slippers.
