Is there anything I can do for this poor little kitty?

Ever since Monday, my family has been calling a kill shelter in regards to a lost kitten. It's 3 days are up today and we learned it doesn't weigh enough and will be pts. We offered to foster it and they said no. Is there anything I can do to help this poor soul??? We want to love it SO BAD and they won't let us. My mother is sobbing. Please help!

Can you adopt it?

Sorry if that sounds overly simplistic, just wondered if it was one of those shelters that only rescue groups can "sponsor" a pet from. If that's the case, contact a local rescue group to have them go get this baby!

No they said we couldn't adopt it, couldn't foster it, it will be pts. Said they get over 35 kittens a day and can't save them all. How do I contact a rescue group?? Call them? Sorry I've never done this before. I looked at several websites but they seemed to be geared to "adopt this already rescued animal" vs "notify us of rescues".

Well I just called about 7 or 8 different "rescue organizations" in town and none of them answered, I guess it's late. Funny thing, the place where they are was listed on the list, I guess bc they are an adoption agency. I think the poor thing will be pts tonight or tomorrow so I guess I got on it too late. Poor little bugger. Thanks for your help.

That strikes me as bizarre that they won't let you take the kitten... and won't let you foster it. Did you ask to speak to someone of importance at this kill shelter? Whoever answers the phone may be "programmed" to say certain things... to everyone who calls.... dunno.

Bless you for caring for that poor little baby If you are not able to get it, perhaps you could rescue another kitten. 35 a day that is mind-boggling and heartbreaking

I would guess nothing short of a judicial order would change anything.

thanks for the replies...the whole litter of 4 has been removed off the website so i guess we know what that means...rip sweet kitties.
