Hi,

We had taken in a cat from a friend that moved out of state about 4 weeks ago. Her food has not changed nor her litter type/brand. She took well to our home and blended in after a few days.

Last week Thurs - Sun my wife and I had our nephews over. One is 12 and the other is 7. Our cat is used to kids, as she came from a home that had a 5 year old and she does fine with our daughters 7 and 15.

The boy's on the other hand try to treat our cat Noodles like a dog. I've pretty much put an end to them chasing the cat down on their first night at our place. The poor cat just couldn't relax at over this time, nor could I. LOL. It was pretty much like she couldn't get away for some quiet.

Yesterday morning she was on our bed as she is pretty much every morning. She likes to attack our feet while we are waking up. I heard scratching at the foot of the bed and didn't think much of it because I thought she was playing with my wife's feet through the covers. I roll over and squish. Wet spot on the bed.

Again this morning the cat was at the foot of the bed again. This time no scratching. I shift my leg slightly and wet spot. This time it didn't make it all the way through to the mattress.

I cleaned the mattress yesterday and washed all the sheets. We have pet enzyme stuff and i soaked the mattress top with that and washed the sheets and down comforter with that as well. No smell of Pee, and nothing a black light was picking up.

I'm planning on taking her into the vet to see if it is a UTI, but could there be a possibility that she was stressed out over those 4 days and she's mad at us or just out of her mind.

Yesterday when I got home from work, she had used the litterbox, both pee and poo. We keep it clean, changing the litter out every 3 days and scooping at least 2 times a day.

Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to make sure I had the events that led up to this covered.

Taking the cat to the vet just to double check would be the best thing, one of my cats a few years ago she was peeing everywhere..so it was an infection.
It might be that she feels angry with the stress she was put in to being chased like a dog.

Good Luck

Vet check for sure if for no other reason but to rule out a UTI.

My brain isn't funtioning well today, but I believe stress can cause medical issues. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Our cat had a check up and updated shots prior to us taking ownership of her and everything came back ok. So I'm hoping it's not UTI and just stress and her taking revenge on us.

I don't think it is UTI mainly because she does use the litter box when nobody is home. I had another thought. Since my nephews have a pet dog, could there be a possibility that they carried the scent into our home and the the cat is reclaiming her territory? I'm curious on that since our bed is where she likes to bask in the sun most days. But if that was the case, then I think she would be peeing in my daughters room as well since she is always at her cousins house after school everyday. Something Noodles has not done.

I'm definitely going to pick up a feliway diffuser today. The more I think about it, the more I think she is stressed. Every night when were watching TV she would snuggle up to me or my wife or stretch out on our chest if were laying on the couch. This hasn't happened since last week Wednesday night. She will play a bit and is talkative still, but with really any petting or anything else, she's just not up for it.
