Short or long?

I have a question i dont know if im right here! please just move it!

But how can u tell that a kittie will have long or short hair?

Longhair: soft guardhairs up to 5 inches long
Semi-longhair: soft guardhairs varying between 2 inches and 4 inches long
Shorthair: maximum about 2 inches long

It's the top coat of hair on your cat. Here is more info to the types of hair cats have.

With mixed breeds its sometimes hard to tell. Shorthair is dominate over longhair tho. I've had some kittens with "fluffy" fur as kittens and when 3-4 months old - they were shorthair. And I've had a short hair kitten that wound up with semi-long hair but you couldn't tell it at a young age.

Even if both parents are shorthair, its possible to get a longhair if both parents are carrying the LH recessive gene.
