My name is Rachel, I'm 21 years old, married by one year so far, and expecting our first son in August. We currently have one cat, a black and white, splotch-marked cat named Bulvine (As in the name of the hero in The 13th Warrior, not as in cow).
This cat is very strange. He spends loads of time cuddling with our female, dumbo/standard, agouti rat named Hinata, and he LOVES his daddy. When Chad was working, Bulvine would wait in the bedroom until he hears the door open, and then come rushing to see to his daddy's attention. In other words, he's our puppy-cat.
His markings are nearly symmetrical, from his back to his face, which is very unique to us. Pictures will be on here, as soon as I save them and figure out how to do so.
Raised around rats since we brought him home as a kitten, there is no threat of him harming my babies. By seeing that a cat can be just as cuddly as our rats, I hope to get one that I could claim as my own.
Our little fellow loves toys that are red and shiny, a gentle hand that wants to pet him, catnip, and even causing SOME trouble, but he dislikes moving, when Athena tries chasing him off of the couch (Our female, gray and brown, curly/dumbo/standard rat, daughter of Hinata), and having no choice but to follow the rules of the house.
Sometimes, I swear that he can understand what we tell him, as a majority of the time, he'll look up at us as if to say, "why". I'd have to say that that's the cutest thing I've ever seen him do, thus far.
Around me, Bulvine is pretty much unavailable, unless I'm eating something with a tantalizing smell of meat, or I'm trying to type up my book.
I mainly wanted to join this forum not only to learn more about cats in general, but I also wanted to learn about this kitten I've been looking at.
This young cat's mother is a gray-colored calico, and its father is a gray and white, tabby. In result, it looks like a silver calico! Its body looked like gray and black flames, going from the top of the head to its tail, with little, tan spots on its face. It was born with a litter of 5 more (two or three more look like this in some way) on May 5th of this year. I'll be able to get photos of this little one soon, too. To tell you the truth, I have never seen such markings! And I've raised cats with my mother since I was about 5 years of age! I'm trying to find one that looks like it online, but with no luck...
I've gotta get going, however...I use the computer at a computer store to go online, and they're closing in 5 min. Hope I'll learn lots here!
