hair loss

Hello, my cat (that i've mentioned in previous posts - 13yr old female with asthma that was doing the licking of the lips) was lying on her back. Right in the center of her belly I notice there was a spot smaller than the size of a dime without any hair. I've seen other cats with hair problems, but this looked different. It's like a patch of hair was perfectly removed exposing her white skin (didn't notice anything odd about the skin). I haven't had a chance to investigate more and see if there are other areas. She's a fluffly long hair cat and stays indoors. Is this something I should be concerned about?

It's probably nothing to worry about but keep an eye on it. Make sure the patch isn't getting larger, and that the skin isn't looking abnormal in any way. If your cat seems to groom that area too much or seems bothered by it, let the vet take a look.
