do you know anything about turtles?

I love fish, I have had fish before but I had a tank crack and had to give all my fish away. I think watching fish is peaceful. My husband always complains that I am hard to buy gifts for because I am not a 'girly' girl and I do not wear jewlrey and I told him that I would LOVE it if he bought me an aquarium again someday.
My daughter asked if she can have a pet turtle someday. Honestly I do not know anything about turtles but her enthusiausm has totally rubbed off on me and I really want a tank with a turtle in it! Does anyone here know anything about turtles?

all i can say is research research research. we bought a crab for our tank and the place we bought it didnt give us any information, they just sold it with the fish. We ended up drowning it!

I've never had a turtle, but my boyfriend has a turtle that he has in a big tank, but it seems like most of the time, it's out and running around the house. I don't know too much about them, so I also think a little research may be good.

You're looking at an expensive and somewhat difficult pet to keep - as all reptiles tend to be. They have very specific requirements and need vet care, too, just like any other animal.
