I am having some problems and need some help! My kitties are 4 1/2 weeks old now. On Friday I started offering them some wet kitten food to see what they would do. Only 1 ate it, and even then he was just nibbling a little bit. I also offered some dry kitten food the next day and a different one ate some of that, but again just a little bit. Well problem is 3 of the 4 won't suck on the bottle anymore...they just chew it and don't really get any formula out! I also have offered formula in a little saucer, formula mixed with wet food and dry food. They seem to just want the bottle. But since they are pretty much just chewing on it now they aren't eating as much as they were!

What can I do to make sure they are eating enough? Are they chewing because they are teething? Maybe if they get hungry enough they will have to eat the kitten food? lol. I don't care if they are weaned yet or not, just want them to be getting the proper amount of food

Thanks

I think they are probaly teeth, it took me 9 weeks to wean my bottle baby. for teething someone on here suggested, plastic drink straws. Lucky loved them, she'd carry them around and chew on them.

Ahhh...straws. I will have to try that! You bottle fed yours until 9 weeks?! I sure hope mine wean faster than that! I love feeding them but it is just more time consuming...I'd rather spend it playing with them

**stupid question: I know the kittiens can give diseases to my cat since they haven't been tested or vaccinated, can they give anything to my dog?
