My Vet gives Sub Q's so they can take a test if the bladder is empty. I hope your cat feels better.

The vet said his bladder was empty which sounds like why they didn't do a urinalysis. Given the symptoms they will treat it as if it is an infection anyway as the antibiotics can only help at this point.
For quantity, a couple of ounces would be more than enough...BUT, here's the thing:Originally Posted by Naia

How much of it should I collect to bring to the vet? So far I only have about 2 drops. The lady on the phone said that they didn't need much, but I think I am going to try to collect more.
Some vet will administer subQ fluid & wait a couple of hours to extract urine. You may want to ask your vet to see if they'll do that.Originally Posted by Naia
Yeah. I am going to give the vet a call tomorrow for more details on how much / how recent they want it.
How long has it been since the vet visit? He's probably just stressed out. I'd spray rescue remedy in the house.I am trying to make sure he is pooping. He has been eating, so he should be pooping, but I don't think I've scooped out any of his poop since I took him to the vet.
certainly wouldn't hurt him. you can even add a little water to the wet to make it 'wetter'!Originally Posted by Naia
Should I put him on a wet food diet for now, to up his water intake? If so, I'll have to look for a good wet food.
