I currently have Mitties on Orijen after her horrible constipation issues last year. She has been doing wonderfully, mostly in part to the Lactulose stool softener she now has to take every day.

We have also recently acquired another cat, Sneakers, who is not overweight (unlike Mitties). His former owner had him on a diet of "whatever's on sale," so basically he's used to crappy food. I wouldn't mind switching him to Orijen too, but Orijen is hard for me to get and very, very expensive.

What can I feed them both so that I don't break my budget but also give them the nutrition they need? Should I keep Mitties on grain free or start incorporating it back into her diet? I'd like them to both be on the same food.

Even though Orijen is expensive, I have found it lasts much longer than the lower priced grainy foods. I feed 2 cats and they don't go through nearly as much of the Orijen as they did the lesser quality.

So even though it costs more up front, it ends up not costing more at the back end. It also saves on the litter since they don't poo as much as they used to.

I think I will follow your advice and just keep Mitties on Orijen, and try to wean sneakers off the crap and put him on the good, too. It's true that I only have to buy it every once in a while and if Mitties is doing so well on it, why change that and risk another bout of constipation or UTI's? I will just stick with the Orijen. Thanks everyone!
