About an hour ago Molly woke me up by climbing over my head crying.. I checked her out and her mucus plug was coming away..

Ive put lots of towels on my bed and she is lying next to me, five minutes ago i was petting her and heard a kind of 'snap'.. it shocked Molly and myself lol when i checked behind her there is a amount of fluid. Was this her waters breaking????

She is now meowing almost constantly.. She hasnt settled anywhere for long and goes from my bed to one of her boxes then to the other..

Every now and again she'll take what looks like to be 5 big breaths with her tummy tightning.. Are these her contractions?

baby is mostly black with some other colors lol its hard to tell when they are wet isnt it...

Molly has eaten the placenta and left the cord about two inches long.. is this right? Baby is now looking for a nipple, i tried to help baby but he/she wouldnt latch on..

Nature is awesome..

They'll latch on when they get hungry I would think... They looks just beautiful!! Conratulations!! I would think after eating all those placenta's that the poor kitty would be just stuffed full!! Did her milk come in already??

All four are nursing well now and mum and babies are doing well.

Im not sure of their sex yet so will wait with naming them.

Kitten one..

Kitten two

Kitten three

Kitten four

They have all completely changed color to what i originally thought they was.

The fifth came along roughly an hour later, She had been contracting for about 40 minutes. about half hour in she had a bubble of fluid coming out so i had to burst this which seemed to help number five come along a bit quicker but sadly he was already gone.

We tried our best to bring him round but just no luck at all. Ive heard before that the mothers instinctively know when a baby has died and tend to ignore it but Molly didnt, she cleaned him off and cut the cord and after i had failed at bringing him back i put him back with her for a little while and she continued to clean him.

It was heart breaking for Molly and for us.
I hope that where ever he may be that there is a mummy cat with plenty of milk and licks for him.

I weighed all the other kittens again this morning and three of them had put on 5grams each while the smallest kitten from yesterday that weighed only 90 grams had put on a massive 15g over night. So we now have two kittens at 115g and the other two at 105g.

I will update with pictures as they grow..
