What are some "oldies" songs you love?

The following are ones I remember from when I was younger, my older siblings listened to them a lot. I just found an old Ace of Base cassette tape!

Ace of Base:
The Sign
All that She wants
Living in Danger
Don't turn around

C&C Music Factory:
Just a touch of love

So....what about you? Jammed to any songs from your younger-years lately?

My favorite band growing up was Duran Duran and I still absolutely love them. The other day my husband I were out of town and I was tired and grumpy. My husband was going through an endless stack of CD's at a music store and all of the sudden 'Hungry Like The Wolf' came on and my mood changed in an instant. It was amazing! Also, whenever I hear anything by Pearl Jam or Nirvana I immediately think of high school, especially if it's Even Flow or Smells Like Teen Spirit. Even Flow was my cruising song back in the day. Haha!

Nat, you're making me feel old now. That stuff isn't "classic" in my world...that was out when I was in college. Same with Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

Earl (DH) produces a syndicated '80s rock show, so we're always listening to "classic" stuff. Like right now he's playing Motley Crue's Too Fast for Love. Also listened to Night Ranger, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Guns N Roses and stuff like that tonight.

In my world, "classic rock" is like Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, Molly Hatchet, Bad Company, stuff like that.

Oh godd, I listened to so much music back in the day! Lets think, Closing time, I dont even remember who sings that anymore! LOL
Gun's N roses, Pearl Jam, Verve pipe, Red hot chili peppers, Beattles, Paula Abdule (haha I was young and it was fun!) My mom listened to alot of fun stuff that I got into too! But keep in mind most of my "oldies" are only 10-15 years old!

That is too funny, I have never heard of those bands!

Classic: Anything by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, or even older, the Beatles.

I loooooove Come Undone.
Of course, that's no surprise coming from me, I suppose. It is one of my favorite Duran Duran songs, though!

So glad I looked at this thread, am happily listening to Ace of Base on YouTube now, having already listened to Def Leppard. Can't think of many to add though, I listen to quite a lot of the songs I love on a regular basis. The music channel I like are doing some kind of every number one day, so can't wait for that to start!!

Good, someone around my age, I like those songs that you posted.

I really like 50's and 60's music

Run Around Sue
The Twist

That is what we listen to at the day care on Fridays sometimes, and me and the kids will just dance and dance and have the best time. They can't do that to todays music.

I was going to say it, but someone beat me to it: Those songs aren't classics, they're just a few weeks ago!

I remember when the Beatles got popular. And yes, my mother hated them as much as I hate rap. My tastes are pretty eclectic, but even Def Leppard is a johnny-come-lately, in my book.

For an idea of what my mother considered "great popular music:"

Mike, I can't quite get my head around that clip you posted!

Way to feel old! Ace of Base, Pearl Jam, Nirvana - that was in university for me.
I love a lot of 80's music, that was when I was a total teeny-bop in high school.

I listen to a wide range of music though, I don't really care when it was produced as long as I like it. Anything from Billy Holiday to Nirvana to Audioslave to Dido. Not real big on today's pop singers though.

I grew up in the early '70's, so Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Traffic, Van Morrison.....those were my favorites. I have to admit, I love a lot of the '80's stuff too, like Duran Duran, REM, The Fixx. There's even a lot out now which I enjoy, Seether, Saliva, Chevelle, Evan's Blue, Nickelback. I can always find something to enjoy!

Well, I can go with some 80's stuff:

Probably the best song of the 80's. And what it looks like now:

Ladies, if I have to explain the lineup in this video, you are just TOO young and TOO inexperienced!

By the way, there are a LOT of versions of the 3 Little Fishies on Youtube!

Everything I listen to could be considered 'oldies'. All of my favourite bands were formed in the 1960's or early 1970's.
