I have a friend in Austin Texas, who discovered a mother cat and her
new born kittens in her attic this morning.

They are now in her garage but she cannot keep them.
She is at work and asked if I would get some names and phone numbers of rescue / foster / no kill groups to take these poor sweetie pies.
They will die if she doesn't find one right away....

This is a critical emergency.
Thanks for your help.

Good news

The emergency is over.

My friend knew a vet tech who has agreed to go and get Mama and babies to take them to her vet to be check over..
then the tech will foster them.

What a relief.

There's no place like home
I'm also glad to hear it worked out!!

But one dumb question - why did she think they would die if they weren't rescued immediately? Kittens were with mom and they were in her garage. I'm curious - tell me to butt out if its not my business.

Those were my words...

Her and her family just moved into that house last weekend.
She is not a cat person.
They have two big golden retrievers, 2 young daughters, a husband and boxes everywhere.
The mother cat must have chosen her birthing nest in the attic before they moved in.

My friend was driving to work when she called me at 5 this morning.
Her husband was still home but they were not sure if the garage was secure.
They have been under tornado alerts all week.
They live about an hour from Austin but she works in the city.

She freaked out...
I freaked out.
I hope that answers your question.

Hopefully the cats are in good hands now.

Thanks....
there are 8 kittens.

All are at the vets and will remain there with Mama kitty until they are stable.

I will update as things progress.
