How does it look? I've got one ceiling in my house that has cracked plaster plus a hole which has to be patched where the old ceiling outlet was but wasnt rewired with new wire. So even once its patched you'll be able to see the patch marks so Im thinking if I can get some kind of texture paint for the ceiling it'll make everything much nicer. But anyhow, I dont just want it to look like sandpaper, that might be a little weird. If anyone has any suggestions for texturing Im open to them!

When we remodeled our kitchen we removed a fixture and patched the hole and used the texture stuff-I thought it was in a spray can?? Anyhow we can still tell were the light fixture used to be. When we put the small drywall piece in it ended up higher than the rest of the ceiling. Should have probably either made the hole bigger or slathered on the drywall mud. So that is more noticable than the texture of the ceiling.

When I've had to texture a wall I used a fine sand and added it to the paint. What works best is say you have some paper cups pour in a bit of paint and some fine sand, mix and try on a spare piece of drywall you will be able to judge of you need to add more sand or not and doesn't waste alot of paint.
