I could only imagine what is in the duct right now. Ramsay and Gus are both peering down into the grate on the floor, occasionally trying to stick a paw in there. I don't even want to know what's in there. Hopefully we don't have mice!!

I hate it when my girls do stuff like that. I get so paranoid. Especially when they both stare over my shoulder with puffed out tails and freaked out expressions.

during xmas 06, chloe kept sitting right next to the xmas tree by one certain present and facing the wall. we kept getting onto her thinking she was messing with the present since it has a big bow on it. she did this for weeks.

right after xmas, she started sitting outside the cabinets in the kitchen which are on the opposite side of the wall where she was sitting at xmas. my grandma started cleaning out her cabinets and chloe started making her xena warrior princess cry---

----grandmas cabinets had been full of mice!!! theyd destroyed EVERYTHING and chloe had been trying to find a way to get to them thru the walls during christmas. this was about 3 weeks before the ice storm hit and i guess the mice felt it coming and were bunkering down

how about that? Such intuitive cats! It's a shame Oscar doesn't share the same feline trait. We've had a leaky drain for goodness knows how long - didn't actually realise a) that it was leaking and b) what drain it was. So it was pretty ordinary to see Ozzy drinking from a puddle at the end of the drive. Recently found out it's our um...'waste' drain that had been leaking. Takes it that step further from drinking out of the toilet hey

Oh yes that stalking behavior tells me something's afoot too.....hope it's not anything too nasty.....

Our old apartment complex had bug....issues. (ick) Which was great fun for kitty, totally gross for us!!! Whenever she gets like that, it's a sign to scale the nearest piece of furniture and panic. :p

Lol who knows maybe their just amazed by the duct in general?

I know Wicked and Smidgeon are amazed with ours. And ours doesent have any kind of nails holding it down. So they both have found out how to take their claws and lift cover off. They then knock bits of food or just stick their heads down there lol.

*shudders* i moved into an apt in norman from the other end of the complex and had been PROMISED there were no roaches. i was laying on the couch one night with the lights of chen chloe started freaking out. i looked up and there was a roach almost FOUR INCHES LONG AND 2 INCHES WIDE. (id heard the rumors but didnt believe them)
i hadnt even unpacked yet so i nailed it with the 2x4 from my computer stand and moved out the next week. you dont even want to know where all the bug guts went and i didnt clean them up or bother to tell them. i left it as a going away present LOL (sorry for grossing you out)

i didnt even know roaches got that big! so now im *extremely* leery anytime my kitties start acting like theres something in the apt. im TERRIFIED of spiders, snakes, mice...all those good things lol

Hi courtney,

Yeah.....our complex had a roach problem, I just didn't want to say the word. Our apartment was next to the trash room (lucky us), and our neighbors had a disgusting habit of missing the chute or spilling soda on the floor without cleaning it up. One fine morning, I went in to find that they left *half a cake on the floor*....and I will not comment on what else was in the room. I screamed and called the super, who said she'd have a chat with them. So...we moved. The kitty, however, had a grand old time and loved to munch on them. I also, am terrified to tears of them and anything else my babykins might find interesting.

I saw one like that once -- thankfully, *not* in our apartment -- in a Starbucks within a train station. Uggggh. I've only seen them in movies and didn't think they actually existed!

lol sorry. well where i lived was college students...international, drunk, irresponsible, drug-dealing (think "hey didnt i see you on COPS last week?!?!")unwashed miscreant, registered sex offending (and that was our landlord 0.o) skanks. my next door neighboor were prostitutes and the customers were always knocking on my door by mistake. the guy who lived across from me stood outside almost 24hrs a day in his underwear, drunk, with his guitar yelling sweet home alabama (just a few lines) over and over and over and over with his friends, collecting garbage for the bugs.

needless to say, i lived in the ghetto. you could walk thru the parking lot and it would crunch and you would assume it was the leaves...until you realized it was squirting also *gags* it was the roaches. im not exaggerating about the size either. they were the exact same size as chloes leg is wide and about 3in long! my friend told me that his apt was the only one in the building without roaches because he had 3 cats!!! (he lived above skynnyrd boy)

anyway, anytime ive seen chloe go on alert, shes come up with mice, scorpions, raccoons, spiders, roaches, a 20ft hairball from my drain *gags*, wasps, mosquitos... you see why i worry lol
