Okay first a little back story. Let me take you back about a yeah and a half ago. I was then 422 pounds, had sleep apnea, and was borderline for a lot of other horrid health risks due to my obesity and only 21 years of age. On December 28, 2006 I underwent weight loss surgery and with in the first month lost 25 pounds. The first 6 months I lost a total of around 50-60 but then slowly started to gain it back and over time managed to make it back up to about 380 pounds by last x-mas. Not wanting to see me fail my doctor made a few adjustments and I managed to get down to 366 in about a month but then again started to gain it back. Last time I saw him, which was March 17th(or right around there) I was back up to 372 and he started to talk about reversing the surgery because it wasn't working for me. That scared the bejesus out of me because I didn't want to get back up to 422 or get another surgery because those are a lot more invasive.

So I put my mind to it that I was going to lose weight again and I managed to cut out everything that isn't water and started to eat fruit and vegitables on a regular basis and started to do a little(very little) amount of exercise. Well as of today I was 355!!!. Thats 17 pounds in 6 weeks
I couldn't
believe it. I started to cry a little and Tomnus came running into the bathroom to see what was wrong and even though I am sure he didn't understand he still wrapped himself around my legs a few times. I still can't believe what a difference cutting out energy drinks and fruit juice made because i know thats what did it for me.

Anyway I thought I would share, and just so you know all health factors have fully reversed themselves. I am off to go jogging.

You should be very proud of yourself, I am always dieting too and am back on the Weight Watcher's program again. Good luck to you and keep up the good work.

Congrats!!! You definitely should be proud of yourself! And good for you for doing something about your health while you were still young. The older you get, the harder it is to lose, surgery or not (believe me, I keep trying!!).

Congrats to you!!! I am back on the straight and narrow, too (no pun intended).

If I could just get my boyfriend, who is not heavy BTW, to stop drinking Gatorade, fruit juice and sugared pop......
(He does have a small, middle-aged paunch he'd like to get rid of!)

That's fantastic! I'm so glad for you! I had gastric band surgery in February myself, and despite some setbacks, I'm now down 28 pounds from my highest weight -- but my gosh, you're down 67 pounds! You must be over the moon!

They do say that making sure your calories come from solids, rather than liquids, is the key, so it sounds like you're definitely on the right track now... and you can go as far as you want with this! Congratulations!
