Kittens of any breed are often spoken for either before, or shortly after birth. The best thing is to get on a waiting list, then you are guaranteed a kitten.

The waits are shorter if you want pet q or if sex/colour doesn't matter.

The perfect kitten will come along in time. Good luck!

Just giving an update on my wait
It is a possibility that my girl will be conceived soon! If everything goes as planned and there is a show quality girl out of that litter it will be mine I was told
And she will be red
So I am guessing she would come home in December or January. I have no idea what the chances are of there being a show quality girl so hopefully there will be!

Which cattery will she be from? PM me if you don't want to advertise to the world!

Apparently Malaysia (not mine) will get our first show Somali in July. don't know from where, but it's coming. Can't wait to see it in the shows!

Two weeks to go 'til delivery. I really hope there's a future queen swimming in her womb right now.

Oh wow - they are nice - which one do you think is yours and which cattery are they out of?

Personally I like the one on the left (as you are looking at the pic) - love the head and ears. But can't really compare to the other one as you can't see ears/set

I asked for the kitten on the left, but told the breeder (Ociopia, in L.A.) that I just want the nicest of the two. She is 10 (11?) weeks old.

Two of my friends have offered to come with me to LA and drive down to get her, cause they don't want me to fly her
We'll see what happens.

I was so excited to get my kitten tomorrow! I have been waiting SO patiently. BUT, the breeder called today and said the kittens had a tummy bug and had gone to the vet today. Vet gave them meds, and she doesn't feel right giving me a kitten that isn't eating. I just hope that she is OK. I'm supposed to come Sunday the 15th instead. I know this is just a sign that she is a good and conscientious breeder, but I can't help still being disappointed! This is the second time we've pushed back the date to pick her up (first for her spay, now this). I know she'll be worth the wait though, and no one wants to be worrying over a brand new kitty that is sick!

Yes, while you have to wait longer, its enough stress on a kitten to go into the new home as well as not feeling well. A little longer won't hurt

SSmith, it's so good that you are waiting for your kitten to be totally healthy to come home. but I know it's hard to wait!

My breeder says kitten is getting her last shots tomorrow, so it's perfect timing that I was able to go tomorrow. But, now I have to worry about side affects and reactions to the shot. I'm sure she'll be fine, but you're lucky you can wait for a perfect day to get the kitten.
