Cat making wheezing sound while running

Hi all,

One of my kittens makes a weird wheezing type sound when playing with his brothers. It doesn't seem to impede his play or slow him down and he has never coughed before. Initially, my husband and I just thought it was a funny noise (in fact it sounds more like a funny noise than wheezing). I looked up Cat asthma and he doesn't have any other symptoms.

Do any of your kittens make noises when they are playing, other than the occasional meow?

I know my cat does after she has chased the laser light for 3 minutes,she seems fine 5 min after tho.

Sounds like Asthma to me. Coco does that sometimes with her Asthma.

While it could be asthma, Zek will make a huffing sound when he has a toy and Odo comes near him. It's kind of a combination between a disgusted sigh and a growl. If you play with him alone, does he still make the sound, or is it only when he's playing with his brothers?

It is generally when he is playing with his brothers, but he does it when he is running. almost like a shhh shhh sound. I suspect, he would do it with us too, but he typically runs farther distances (like around the house as fast as he can ) with his brothers. He doesn't do it all the time, in fact, we've only heard it a few times, but we will bring it up at the vet. This cat is EXTREMELY vocal and generally talks when wrestling by the way.

Coco does it sometimes when her Asthma acts up.

mine is usually huffn and hffn after she is does running,but then again she is a lil overweight too.
