My foster cat Johnny Cash had a badly broken ankle in the fall of last year. He is at the vet today getting checked and I just heard from the vet.
She was surprised at how quickly it is affecting him, but he has developed arthritis pretty bad in the ankle joint. He is still using it, and the joint has movement, but he will need to take a joint supplement daily. She said she would also like him to lose about 1 - 2 pounds. He is between 1 and 2 years old and weighed just under 12 pounds.
She said no wet food, since that would make him fatter
but that is the opposite of what I've learned on here. If I put the supplement on his dry food, Riley will eat it. I would like to still give him a little wet food each morning with the supplement. He isn't a huge fan of wet to start with but I just can't really agree with the vet on this one.
Any opinions, advice?
