Today's Jamie's 9th birthday, so he got a choice between three kinds of "people food" for dinner - shrimp, crab, and water-packed tuna. I bought the canned varieties, and held the packaging up for his inspection, and gave him the crab meat, because he meowed the loudest at that, and hopped around. Hubby witnessed "the latest example of spoiling the cat", and started getting on my case about cats not being able to read, how dumb that was, etc., etc.

Jamie is certainly able to distinguish colors, and has had enough experience with the packaging in question that he knows what's inside.

We fixed hubby's feet - I opened up all three, put everything in separate bowls, and Jamie
came through for me - he stuffed himself with the crab.

So - our neighbors' cats got shrimp and/or tuna, and hubby isn't speaking to me.

Jamie!

MANY HAPPY RETURNS!
Thank you, Fran, on Jamie's behalf. I'm hoping for at least another 9 years. When it's time for him to leave us, I hope I'll have enough courage as Katie, and will bring myself to take in FeLV+ and FIV+ kitties. It would be better that there wouldn't be any need to, though.

Hahaha that's so cute!

Oliver discovered crab meat one Friday during Lent and went nuts-o! My family likes crab but we don't eat it all that often and are kind of picky pants about our seafood in the fact that we much prefer fresh over canned (although, we could probably support the canned tuna industry by ourselves)

I'm pretty sure though, if I were to set down 3 plates of seafood - Oliver would be all over them all, at the same time swatting away my black lab (she also loves seafood)
