"Hey" from Arizona!

My name is Amy and I am 19 years old. I have a fiance named Ryan. We just moved into our first 3 bedroom house on April 1st . I am on 2 different rat forums and 1 rabbit forum. I really love forums and I spend a great deal of time on them .

I have four 3 house bunnies and 4 pet rats (2 neutered, 2 not). I also have 1 neutered foster bunny. All my "boys" have their own bedroom. The rabbits have custom cages build by me, called 'NIC cages".

My fiance and I are looking to adopt our first kitty, so I joined this forum to learn more about cats and their nutritional needs (mostly).

We are going to adopt from a cat rescue called "Miss Kitty's Cat House" here in Prescott, AZ. The main adoption place is a small 2 bedroom house all decked out with cat trees, nice places for cats to sleep, and tons of toys. "The Cat House" has up to 25 kitties in the house at a time, plus numerous in foster homes and a lady who takes in all the pregnant mommies and the kittens.

I try to go with my friend Karin every other Thursdays to play with the kitties while she feeds and cleans. The Cat House is such a neat place! Ryan and I will be going this next Thursday to possibly pick out a kitty, if we don't find one...then we are going to be going to PetSmart's HUGE adoption event this next weekend...where all the kitties in foster homes will be there.

I'm in Chandler Arizona. Moved back here 6 months ago for the company I work for. I was actually born on the air force base about 2 miles from my condo .

Been to prescott numerous times. The last time was for a Christian retreat. GREAT place!

Fellow Arizonans!

I had a rat during high school.
My sister and her husband are hugely into rats!

Adopted kitties are awesome!
My advice is to look around without any preconceptions.
Gulliver was a cat I wouldn't have chosen, but my son fell in love with him at the shelter.

Now I have him home, I agree with my son!
Gulliver is a hoot!

You never know what treasures you can find at the shelters!

Wow, this place is sooooo friendly !

I'm super happy to meet more Arizona people! I moved to Prescott almost 3 years ago, I was born and raised in upstate New York .

As for my kitty, I'm ready for anyone! I have no colors, age, personality, ect in mind...I'm just going to go and play with kitties and let one pick me out . I am steering away from kittens, though....there are way too many older kitties who need a forever home, who get passed over because they aren't babies.
