Hi!

Yes, I am fine. I have not been up there yet but I haven't been able to get on the internet as much as usual because the police have been calling us at all hours (and I'm on dial up.). It turns out that most of our stuff is alright, and that it was just some stupid kids looking for liquor and a place to vandalize. But the police have been calling and asking us questions, and asking us if we know anyone that might have done this.

Oh Jenn, I'm so relieved!!! I mean - of course this is still terrible, invasive and destructive - but it seems like your things and your memories there have survived intact.

They were pretty stupid criminals. They took all the cheap liquor from all the cottages on the lake, but left the expensive satellite dishes and stuff... lol.

i had a friend who had a cabin ransacked in wisconsin. the kids took the silverware (not silver - just plain old flatware), but left the tv/stereo equipment. they did it at a bunch of cabins at that lake.

why did they need so much silverware?!?!

glad it wasn't as bad as it might have been, but i am sorry for your trouble.

Face it, if they were smart, would they be out ransacking cabins?

Our cottage in the Muskoka area was broken into last year - they shattered the sliding glass door and did some destruction inside. Mostly they were after the alcohol and any small electronics they could find - my grandmother's CD/radio.

Hopefully the cleanup isn't too bad!

Exactly. I guess "Stupid Criminal" is kind of redundant...lol.

Last time they hit us, they stole two ATVs, a half case of beer, and some bottle caps my brother and I had been collecting. We figure they heard the bottle caps in the metal tin and assumed they were coins. Buttt... they left behind some bottle caps with fingerprints on them, and that's how they got caught!

ugh stupid criminals!!
