a friend of mine adopted one of the strays i was feeding, a tortie that looked to be about 5-6 month old the 1st week of march. she had her spayed 15th of march and found out she was pregnant with 7 kittens. the pregnancy at that point was between 3rd &4th week along. she had the kittens aborted.
my friend told me last night that 'Spooky' mammary glands were swollen and is producing milk. is this 'normal'?

Goonie..I'm not a Vet, but I would think that what is happening is normal. The cat's brain knew that the cat was pregnant...and didn't get the message that the kittens are gone. The hormones are just doing their thing for now.

I wouldn't worry about it...it might not last long. It might take a while for the brain to catch up with the surgery.

I would at least call the vet. Even if it is normal, your friend will need to watch for signs of mastitis, a painful infection of the mammary glands.
