HA! If only 'company' meant a man... it's been a LONG time and most of the ones I meet are either too stupid, gay, or taken.

brand... I meant brand.

As for our sisters in Canada, I don't know what you guys have up there.. but if you come across the border, the site i posted earlier might help!

The bra I'm wearing now is a 34G... my new one (which the straps hurt a bit) is different... my fitter this last time said bras at my size should be replaced every few months... I'm just praying that as I lose weight, the 'girls' shrink a bit as well... I'd give nearly anything (but don't have the insurance/money) to have C or D cup again... but i haven't been there since high school...

Well, off to bed for me... back to work tomorrow... urgh.

Nordstroms is where I usually get fit .... I am a 34dd yet VS two different girls same week said 36a and another said 38 c ... I look bigger banded than I am ... Most think 36 c/ d at first when in reality I am a 33dd

I've never had a fitting - probably because I can't afford expensive bras
What exactly do they touch when they measure? I mean do they lift them up and away or flop 'em around or what?

I have tried the online charts and they never seem to work - either cup is too big or too small. I finally found a good Playtex bra I like in DD with no spillage or gaping.

the best fitting is a though one... most only do two measurements ... right under the bust and the fullest part of ... the other common is right above the bust and the fullest part ... I prefer the least common which is above and below plus the fullest.. as the later tells them if you need full figure bras Ie wider cups and higher wires or like me are more petite

well, YMMV, but for me, my cup size is the same... only the band size has changed.

A tip the fitter told me is your breasts are supposed to be, well bend you elbow at a 90 degree angle and your breasts are supposed to be at the halfway point between your elbow and shoulder!!

When I walked into the place here in Portland, I knew a 36 band was too big... and my previous bras were E's and F's. They grabbed some comfy bras in varying cup sizes and had me try them on. I'm pretty self conscious about my 'girls' but you're in a large fitting room with just the fitter. you slip your arms in, they fasten and tell you to lean forward and shake everything into the cups... my girls are spread out (i.e. not all in front, like a certain sibling of mine), so the jiggling helps...

Also, if you can't afford a more $$ bra at that time, they're not going to force you... Intimacy doesn't force you, and neither does the place here in Portland... I like going in there... in fact I have one on order (they only had black in my new bra, and I also need neutral)... so I'll be going back in soon... they're down on Macadam...

I think Intimacy did measurements on me... but they primarily looked at the bra I had on, checked its size, decided it was WAAAYYY too big band wise, and trotted off to find something better... I think i tried on at least ten bras that day... all to get the right fit and comfort level. each manufacturer makes them differently, so your size in one may not be your size in another. Even between styles within the same manufacturer... which is why I will never buy bras online again... wretched little things... great for research, but holy cow.

I think larger cup bras will go down in price when the American companies get a clue... as in not everyone here fits between A-DD. Then I'll be able to buy $25 bras again...

When I was skinnier, I was a smaller cup size. Even my doctor said that when you lose weight, a small portion of that can come from the 'girls.' Guaranteed? No. But I know i was much smaller ('girls' wise) when I weighed 130 lbs. Closer to a D-DD.

Bra fittings are totally worth it! I was amazed after I found out what size I REALLY am. The downside? I wear a 34G which is near impossible to find. I pretty much have to go to high-end stores. The bras I get are $70, but totally worth it!!!

i think part of it has to do w/whether you've had children. on my weight loss board, the women who've had children lose more there than those of us who haven't.

The thing my fitter at Macy's said (she was just a Macy's employee, btw, not a rep for any specific brand) is that you can go with what they call "sister sizes"- if you go up a band size, you can go down a cup size and it will probably fit you.

Don't forget, the band size is the finite measurement. The cup size is relative to that band size. So a c-cup on a 32 band is a lot different than a c-cup on a 44 band.

Sometimes the sister sizes work, sometimes they don't... I'm small enough around that a 36 band rides up in the back, which a bra band is NOT supposed to do. it should be horizontal all the way from under the 'girls' around to the back... it should not ride up at the back... that means it's too big. a 36 does that on me... so the sister size doesn't always work... always, always, always try them on in the store...

As for the band size being finite and the cup size shifting, yes... the cup on a 36C is not the same size cup as a 38C...

And even if a sister size did work on me, I STILL wouldn't be able to buy bras at VS...

I've had a bra fitting done, but my correct size [32D] is near impossible to find, even at Victoria's Secret. Last time I went into VS I told her my size and she said "oh sorry", so most of my bras are a 34D. The 34C cut into me and give me that whole bi-boob thing.
