It's nothing exciting at all. It's not even in my field (which is writing/graphics/video), not a career or anything... but it's 22 hours of income a week, it's not difficult, I'll work alone, and it will help me get accustomed to the routine of working again. I'll find out whether I have the physical and mental stamina to handle the commitment.
I'll be working at the storage-unit place where I rented a space a few months ago -- the lady who's leaving recommended me for it (we got acquainted when I moved my stuff in there, so she knew my situation and thought this might work out). All I have to do is rent out the units, handle a lot of paperwork, and help people when they have problems with their spaces. I imagine I'll have some down time during which I can read or write, too. It sounds incredibly easy, and the little office I'll work in is just a small room with windows on two sides, so I'll be able to see outdoors, which is important for me -- I'm a little bit claustrophobic.
And of course, the piece de resistance: I get to drive a golf cart!
So... off to bed early, so I can be (as my Papa would say) bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.
