It's nothing exciting at all. It's not even in my field (which is writing/graphics/video), not a career or anything... but it's 22 hours of income a week, it's not difficult, I'll work alone, and it will help me get accustomed to the routine of working again. I'll find out whether I have the physical and mental stamina to handle the commitment.

I'll be working at the storage-unit place where I rented a space a few months ago -- the lady who's leaving recommended me for it (we got acquainted when I moved my stuff in there, so she knew my situation and thought this might work out). All I have to do is rent out the units, handle a lot of paperwork, and help people when they have problems with their spaces. I imagine I'll have some down time during which I can read or write, too. It sounds incredibly easy, and the little office I'll work in is just a small room with windows on two sides, so I'll be able to see outdoors, which is important for me -- I'm a little bit claustrophobic.

And of course, the piece de resistance: I get to drive a golf cart!

So... off to bed early, so I can be (as my Papa would say) bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.

A golf cart to drive! That rocks....seems silly, but it's cool!

Sending you for tomorrow!

Oh Carol, that is great!! Congrats! With everything that has gone on with your life recently you need something new to focus on and this just sounds perfect. Who cares if it isn't a "career", it's something you are doing for you and that is wonderful! Please let us know how your first day went.

That's great Carol! It will give you a chance to get out for a bit. It's nice to be at home, but sometimes you just need to get out and do something else for a bit.

You are so lucky! I would love to be able to drive around in a golf cart!

Congrats and I hope your first day goes very well.

Congrats Carol! This is a great opportunity for you to dip your tooties in the water before jumping in with full force.

And golf carts are WAY fun! Go Carol!

And when you think of Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed, just think of my kitty Trent. Whoever came up with that phrase must have had a kitty like him!

Way to go!! This is wonderful PLUS a golf cart! How fun that will be
A storage place will certainly provide fodder for creative writing
Just imagine what types of things are kept in there ........... heeheehee

There's no place like home
I used to volunteer to drive the beer cart at the annual company golf outing simply because I got to drive a golf cart for free!!

Congrats Carol!! The first step is always the hardest.

OK Carol, you better be taking good care of my furniture. It is in storage in Plano at a place called P_______ Storage. They have a golf cart, too. Well, I am getting out of there on Tuesday, one day before Persi gets out of jail. I plan on being there at 9 am and I will have Alley with me. Oh yeah, and DW.

Thanks so much, everybody! Of course, I didn't sleep all night for worrying, but that's pretty standard, I guess. On my way out right now!

Oh -- Lee, that's not the same place, I'm sorry to say, so your stuff is on its own!

Off to the world of Gainful Employment! Woohoo!
