On that particular site you can find Numerous complaints on just about any food ... actually any product ... the site even states they look for trends in the complaints... IMHO I dont hold stock in what is on there, I am uneasy about anyone s intentions that has to CHECK a box to NOT be contacted by an attorney for a class action .

I got the same uneasy feeling about this site... I have more trust in Itchmo which lists sources.

I would not dismiss what folks are saying they are experiencing, and I'd be cautious, maybe even look for a second food to rotate to for now, but I haven't made up my mind yet about this site

The blog is still there and accepts comments, but the main blog entries are not being updated on a daily basis. However, should big news break, I'm sure that would be updated.

The FORUMS are still up and continue being used daily.

I suggest reading a site and determining it validity by who is speaking is there a motive like a lawsuit ... either info derived from a website by a vet , govt agency ( though some will argue that) or like this folks NOT trying to put together lawsuits

Here is a bit more info about that site
:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ConsumerAffairs.com
http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1206960391035
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.as...20070212a.html

Also just for comparison, pretend that you yourself are submitting a complaint online.
Here is the one for the site in question:
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/php/a_report.php

And here is what the FDA expects:
http://www.fda.gov/cvm/contactCVM.html

Here is the page with the "complaints" about Nutro. It is long, but bears careful reading.
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/nutro.html

For example, read the one posted by "C" on 4/14/08. This person had no problems whatsoever with Nutro herself but had concluded that there was a problem based on what she had read on that site. That's her complaint.

The one right after it also had no problems, but states that the kibble was darker than normal and smelled different, and that they decided not to feed the food as a 'precaution.'

There is a similar one from "E" on 3/24/08 is similar: No problems at all, but now after reading "these reports" maybe the intermittent pale stools she saw last month cam from the Nutro.

Then there is the 'complaint' from the woman ("S" on 4/7/08) who is wondering if her toy poodle's loose stools might be coming from the dog having "comsumed tainted biscuits." She hasn't been able to stop the loose stools but also hasn't taken her to the vet either.

Some of the 'complaints' aren't even complaints at all. For example starting with the one from (from both "J" and "D" on 3/26/08) who is actually raving about it and from "T, "J," "K" and "S" from 3/25/08.
But those positive contributions that are buried in there do make the page seem so very long and impressive...

Interesting reading. Draw your own conclusions.
