There is a feral cat in our area whom we know to have feline aids. He is friendly to the other cats and does not pose a threat. We suspect that he has developed mange. We have given other ferals ivermectin mixed in with a little food to fend off mange, and it has been very successful....... but I do not know if this is safe for a cat with feline aids. (I know that ivermectiin will kill a cat that already has heartworm, So I will definitely watch him for a while) I also know that if mange gets bad enough the cat will die from infection, so we have taken this chance in the past and been lucky I guess. Also, the mosquitos haven't shown up yet. Is there anyone with info regarding cats with aids, with respect to mange and ivermectin administration?

I live in the No. Va area near DC.
Ivermectin will work = will not harm the cat with feline Aids. You could also use Revolution, which treats mites (ears and skin I think) plus fleas and some worms... couldn't hurt if you can touch him, to get the stuff on (topical)...

Just a suggestion!
