Admin Day

I'd just like to say to all who are admins.. HAPPY ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL'S DAY!


I got a promise of lunch on Friday..... from my co-workers since they all had plans to be out of the office today.

and around 4:30 my boss put a $25 gift card to Starbucks on my desk...

What did your co-workers/bosses do for you???

I got a little box of chocolate from one person I have done a bit of work for, a gift box of several different kinds of chocolate from the office and $200 from one of the groups I work for. And not even a happy day from my primary boss.

I didn't get anything. But thats okay, I gto a Happy Administrative Day but that was about it!

I got to spend the afternoon on a conference call setting up the new office software!

I'm getting Friday off to go to a wedding so I guess that will make up for it!

Its my day off today so I guess thats it.

I recently stopped being the admin assistant in our office, but a couple of the guys got me a card & plant anyway. 2 years ago I got zip, and I worked for 7 departments!

We took our admin out to lunch, and I baked a big cookie and decorated it to look like an easy button:

Nothing yesterday, but last week my boss gave me a dozen pink roses, they were gorgeous!

I have never heard of this holiday

What is an 'administrative professional'? Is that what would have been called a secretary like 15 years ago?

Yes, it used to be "secretary's day" but they changed it. It's not a real holiday, just a Halmark manufactured one.

Um, we all got our annual reviews (coincidence, purely), so I got a stellar review and a raise. The President is taking us out to lunch next Friday. Don't know where yet, but it's usually a really nice meal.

Good for you!!

I think Administrative Professionals day is great. We are usually the over worked, under appreciated ones in the office, so a day to appreciate us is much needed IMO anyways
