hi

there are so many brands avaliable in the market.. i just wonder what shampoo you use on your cat? and how you choose the most suitable / best one for your own cat?

I am currently using Jerob and just wondering how to tell whether it is suitable for my two .

Jerab is good shampoo. On my rexes the only shampoo I used was Nexxus Simply Silver. I use a high quality pet shampoo for Charlie that was recommended by his breeder. Its out of the Jeffers catalog.

You can tell by the way the coat feels afterwards. If you find it's too dry or oily, then I'd change shampoo.

I agree with the above. Different shampoos work for different cats, so it's kind of a trial by error thing. Just make sure it doesn't have tea tree oil in it. I recommend conditioning the coat after shampooing. If your cat has an oily coat, or you want more fluff, then condition the ends and don't rub conditioner into the skin. And always, always make sure you rinse very well!

I have never had to bathe my cats yet,so I don't have a shampoo yet.I do have some cheapy brand stuff here that is for both dogs/cats.It works pretty good for dogs, but I have yet to try it on cats.

I only bathed my cats once (that was a disaster!) but I like Fort Dodge Quik Clean Waterless Shampoo for quick fixes (like when Oliver got into some paint on Saturday). My only complaint is that it's in a spray bottle, which every cat I've ever known has hated. Solution? Spritz it on a dry cloth and apply to the area.

I was able to pick up my Juno yesterday and held her for a moment. She is feral and NEVER lets me hold her. Anyway, did she smell. No wonder my bed smells, she sleeps with me. I would not try to bathe her, but wonder what can I use on her to remove the odor, she is medium haired. She does let me pet her when I'm in the bathroom so whatever I use has to be like a quick swipe before she runs away. Any suggestions to make her a clean kitty? Maybe I should mention that she is over weight and even though she cleans her face and paws, I've never seen her clean her private areas. Maybe she can't reach them.
