I have a Pit Bull in desperate need of a home! He's a sweet guy, less than a year old, not food bowl aggressive at all! He loves people and children, the problem is the person who has him right now, he's locked outside the house, on a leash, they just had a baby and are pregnant again, and have neglected the puppy. He had a sibling, but the police came and took her away and put it down because someone claimed that she looked like she was going to bite them! So the second one needs to get a home and quickly! He isn't being fed or watered by the owners currently, and last night when it stormed he had no shelter at all.... If there is anyone close to south dakota that would like a pit bull Im ready to bring him to you, the other person who is helping will pay for it! He just really needs a good home, I have the feeling that they're preparing the dog for fighting, because I know the guy, and what he does with his dogs. I think thats one of the main reasons the other pit bull Angel was put down.... Someone please help, I dont know who else to ask and he is such a good dog! He doesn't mouth or anything, no food bowl aggression, loves to cuddle, but I wont lie, he has tons of energy and will need someone that can give him lots of exercise, he also isn't fixed yet! he's a beautiful puppy, and Ill get a pic and put it up tomarrow!!

Pllease, Please, Please have a heart! I know the bad stigma on pit bulls, but he's not a bad one, at least not at this stage, and I dont want them to make him a fighter either, he doesn't deserve it!!

Thanks,

Amber

P.S. I would take him myself, but finacial times are hard right now, and I can't afford him! Although I would love to have him! He doesn't have any medical conditions, but with my cats just getting over their URI's and whatever else they had, The vet bills have stacked up and I know I can't afford to bring him in and get him fixed and give him the proper care he needs!

I have seen many wonderful pit bulls. When dogs get aggressive, it's the fault of the owner, but the poor dogs always get the blame. Have you tried reporting the current owners to your local ASPCA?

Ive tried the Pit bull rescue in South Dakota or on the Plains as they call it, and they said they can't take him because they dont take surrenderd dogs! I was like okay, but its not really my dog!

Turns out I was wrong and its a GIRL pit bull! Her collar was too tight and I had to try to get it off which was very challenging! It looked like it had been put on when she was just a tiny baby and never had been loosened! We got it taken care of though! Gave her more food and water, let her play with the other dogs for a little while (a papyon or something that sounds like that and a shorky) she didn't hurt either one of them, and was jusst happy to have someone to play with! She also didn't knock down any of my kids while playing with them! She will let you hand feed her, but if Im gone for a few days and I go to put out the bowl she runs pretty quick to it, but never has showed any aggression and I feel 100% safe in putting my hand in her bowl when she's eating!

I went to check on her tonight and she was whimpering to get in the house... It was really sad, I filled her food bowl back up and gave her some more water and a couple scritches, but thats all I had time to do! I expect to have pictures up tomarrow, and I have a couple places that Im going to check to see if I can't get her into! Its tricky because she's a Pit Bull! Alot of places say they will put her to sleep on the spot if she goes there, but she has to go somewhere, the guy doesn't want her anymore, and he's moving to a different town. I dont know if not feeding her, watering her or taking care of her in general is his way of killing her off so he can just leave or what! Its a sad situation! I felt really bad trying to get that collar off of her earlier, I can't imagine how much that must of hurt!

So if anyone knows of someone looking for a Female Pit Bull, who is happy as a lark, please, please let me know! She really does deserve someone who loves her. She has so much to give!

This is a sad situation.
I wish I could help but I'm nowhere near south dakota. Maybe try the Craiglist?

Hi,
Did this pit bull come from a breeder? Sometimes she will be microchipped, could you borrow a scanner from a vet and check as you might be able to return her to the breeder or have them help you with placement. Most APBT breeders will take a dog back or help you to place it and in that condition I presume much much sooner than later.
Or maybe he will tell you where he got the dog. You are right, most rescues will put a APBT to sleep on the spot, however, there is a dog loving community out there.
http://www.bulldogbreeds.com/dog/ser...ers&BreedID=15
Here is a listing of breeders also. Perhaps even if its not their pup, they would be willing to help in your situation if you contact the ones in that area. I know they are a very close community as are many breed groups.

Thanks everyone for the much appreciated advice! Im working on it right now to get her homed, My options are slowly running out so you can keep posting new ideas for me to try! I gave her a Football today to play with, she's in love! I think that if anyone was to meet her they would take her home, but the second you mention pit bull on the phone there is suddenly no room! Ill find her a home though, no matter what I got to do! She's too special to let die in the worst care possibly ever given! So we'll see how things go over the next couple days...

Well the cops are being called at this point. Too late for help for her now. The guy is in hiding in another town and wanted by the cops so he now has her locked in the house on a chain thats hooked into the ground outside... I dont know what to do anymore. I only hope that Ill be able to find a pit bull rescue center to go to the shelter and rescue her before they have to put her to sleep!

They didn't end up taking the pit bull! They left her there. They are going to come back for her or something so there she is, locked in the house, in a middle of a snowstorm hooked to a chain that is hooked outside!! OMG that infuriates me!

That's horrible. I'm in California, but if we could get a transport set up, or if you can post some pictures, I'll get the word out about her. I know lots of dog people.

She disapeared! From what the neighbors are telling me she died sometime yesterday, but no one knows for sure except the lady who went in there! She isn't being able to be seen through the window anymore, and she isn't outside, so she hasn't been fed for a few days and has had no water... Im pretty sure she crossed the Rainbow Bridge because they saw a big black bag being moved but I suppose that doesn't mean anything... The cops didn't think they needed to actually go in the house since the lady who owns the house was there the whole time. But she made it clear she wasn't going to take care of her at all! I dont know anything for sure yet, but I will tell you more when I know more. For now Im just declaring this as a bad day and going to bed to start fresh tomarro.

Tinkerbell was her name and she did die... I dont know if she choked on the chain or if she dehydrated to death but I would think she would have strangled on the chain!
the poor little thing never stood a chance in this terrible world
