Hi everyone-

It looks like I am finally going to get my cats to eat SOME wet food, but they mostly want to eat the gravy and leave the chunky stuff in the bowl, so I still end up throwing a lot of it away. Are there any foods that are mostly gravy? I remember seeing one that was ONLY gravy but don't remember what it was called. Is there any nutritional value to that? I mostly want them to eat the wet due to reading again about kidney/diabetes issues if they don't get enough liquid in their diets.

Also, what do you think is the best quality wet food available at PetSmart or Petco? A lot of the favorite wet foods on the board don't seem to be available there.

i use a pate style, then liquefy it a little... mine definitely prefer it looser to stiffer.
i use petsmarts authority brand lamb & rice. it's ok - i can't feed too rich of a food, because Cable will get the runs.
they also carry avoderm, nutromax & science diet.
petco has those, in addition to natural balance, pet gold elite, castor & pollux, eagle pack, solid gold, pet promise, halo spot's stew, nature's recipe, & the website says wysong, but when you click on the link, it says they don't have it... you'll have to check your local store.
i included links so you can look at ingredients. some of these would not be appropriate for my cats - i try to avoid fish as much as possible for Chip's sake.

I personally don't like any of the foods at Petsmart--I don't recall seeing Avoderm at my local stores. At Petco, I think that Avoderm and Natural Balance are good, along with Solid Gold. Unfortunately, my cats don't like Castor and Pollux.

I have to be extra picky about food right now with Zek's allergy--we're still trying to figure out what's causing it.

i really like the ingredients in Natural Balance, but it gives Cable the runs

the authority lamb & rice is fish free, so Chip's ok, & not too rich, so Cable's ok.
have yet to find anything that is a problem for Firefox, my other 'wet' eater.

Laureen had a pretty complete list but missed blue spa at petsmart...

Decent to good wets are easier to find than dry IMHO

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...=grocery+foods
that is a list of common grocery brands

the only gravy you saw likely was Iams or Vita gravy... gravy is great flavored liquid
