Thank you so much for sharing the hostess view with me! That really is helpful!

I suspect, however, that you are an especially dedicated and gracious hostess, and most people would tell me to bring my own blasted dinner.

I am Allergic to alot of things but would never tell the Host what to serve. When I went to my Mgrs wedding it was almost all fish and I am Allergic so could hardly eat anything. I did eat chicken they had though.

I agree with Rosemary. I hope my guests will let me know if they have health/allergy issues, and I make a point when inviting someone for the first time, to ask about likes/dislikes/allergies. The way I see it, it's not difficult to plan around such things, but the issue is being able to plan, and I want what I serve to be enjoyable for everyone at the table.

That sounds like a most wonderful feast, Rosemary!

I love figs, and Mango, Ive never been able to cut a mango properly though, its always all stringy. lol, Im hungry now, that sounds so good!!!!
I can honestly say that the only think I can remember not eating in the past few years was a raisin pie...not for me.

Hmmm.... let me just clarify. Butzie (Rosemary) started the post. I added my 2 cents worth, saying I had made lamb, also... as well as vegan food for one of our guests.

Rosemary's lamb was also done with garlic and the herb rosemary, if memory serves me correctly. I don't want to steal R's thunder.. so I would post the recipe for the wet rub in a new thread.

And I would ask R to post her seasoning for HER leg of lamb. I wouldn't mind knowing what she did, since she obviously is a fine cook.

That's ok... I just don't want to hijack Rosemary's story, etc.
