Background: We have a new roommate.
With said roommate came a cat, Lestadt. He's a white and gray spotted DSH. (Biiig amber/gold eyes!) She brought him in to show me and he's definitely a good match for Hennessy, very laid back, very calm, very sweet. He likes people and comes when he's called. Weighs about 7-8 lbs. (About 7-8 lbs less than Hennessy.)
When she showed him to me she set him on a pillow and then took him upstairs to keep them separate a while. (the upstairs closes off from downstairs).
When Hennessy came in he sniffed the pillow thoroughly, his ears went a little back and his eyes dilated and he panted a little. No growling, no hissing.
Question: That's an okay reaction to start with, right? They're both so laid back I really hope they'll be friends. I'm not much worried about Hennessy, he's got all his claws and Lestadt doesn't... and Lestadt's so... delicate.
