Old cat with new cat

I have a 7 year old calico cat. If I decide to get another cat (would be kitten) would my old cat accept the new cat. I would really want them to get along.

And if they would, what steps should I do to make them accept each other.

Females tend to be more territorial and take longer to adjust to a newcomer. If you decide on another kitten, look for a laid back neutered male kitten for best results.

BTW 7 yrs old is NOT an old cat
