My wife and I have been married 35 years (this June 10), and in that time, we've had 5 cats, of which 2 are still with us.

But here are the three that went on before.

Snoopy is the cat we picked up when we were first married and had absolutely no money to take care of a cat. He was a stray that I picked up on the street, and he lived with us for the next 15 years.

Truman and Wickett were brothers, born to a stray cat taken in by the young lady who lived in the apartment below us in Hot Springs, AR. She insisted we take them when they were only 5 weeks old, so they always had a few "separation issues."

Truman as a baby. (Somewhere I have a photo of both of them in one ceramic bowl.)

Truman as an adult. He died at about 6 years, due to a stroke.

Wickett, the concrete block cat. Size, weight, shape, color, and intelligence of a concrete block. He died at about 15, due to throat cancer.

The two of them together.

firstly i would like to congratulate you on entering your 35th year of marriage. that's sadly not something we hear so often these day.

and then what beautiful cats you have had.
i love your description of wickett. my rb cat sinbad was always described as being the 'cushion' with butterflies in place of his brain!

You know, you'd be amazed at how many people I know who have been married 30+ years.

What!!!! There ARE men who are willing to keep their wife for that long?

Back to the op, your kitties were gorgeous and how wonderful that they were blessed to have lived in your home

Yeah, my wife and I were discussing that earlier. Both my college roommates have been married almost as long as we have. Most of our friends, have, too. When we went on a cruise, one time amongst the 5 couples at the table, we had well over 150 years of marriage.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your babies.
My husband and I have been married 19 years, and 2 of our dogs and 2 rabbits are in heaven now, and we're now cat people. We don't have human children and are suckers for animals that need homes, as are you and your wife.
God bless the both of you.

seems my age group (38) and younger, aren't as keen to work at marriage any more.
