In case you haven't heard, Denver and most of the Colorado Front Range has been pounded with snow over the past 24 hours with more on the way. Just in case you haven't gotten your snow fix for the year, I thought I would share some pics.

At my house, we have somewhere around 2 feet of snow right now. They are predicting another 10-18" for Denver, 1-3' more for the foothills. I'm somewhere in between where the Metro area stops (weather wise) and the true foothills. The first 3 were taken this morning, posted one in the DT. The other was taken about a half hour ago.

Last night I woke to what sounded like gunshots. Pretty scary! We figured out this morning it was the tree outside out front window bowing with the weight of the snow. Didn't go to work today, and we've already called it for tomorrow as well. This is just amazing!

You're creeping up on the last big blizzard we had in PA in 1993! (26") Lots of luck. My school was closed for days because there was no place to park! I hope your shoveling skills are sharp. It does look beautiful when it's fresh though, doesn't it?

Great pictures! We need only 7 more inches to break the all-time record for the most snow in the Cleveland area (the biggest snow I've ever seen was winter 96-97. We had 5 feet in Shaker Heights from a storm stalled over Lake Erie). Unfortunately, they are only calling for rain
. I would be happy with one more big, beautiful snow.

It's a good thing you're taking tomorrow off too!!! With all that snow, you'd never be able to find your car in the morning!!!

I'm glad I don't have to shovel all that snow!!!

Movin' on up!
Makes me hurt, just looking at pictures. We haven't gotten any snow, this winter and got just a couple of flurries, last winter. THAT'S why I live in southern Arizona.

Great photo's. Its hot and humid here in the tropics of Australia, so send some over our way if you are sick of it. We would love it for a change. Must be a big mess when it melts.

It looks like the snow has finally stopped. I have about 3-1/2 feet at my place. The whole Front Range of Colorado has been shut down. Aurora, a suburb just east of Denver, has banned anyone except emergecy vehicles from driving. It's just amazing some of the snow totals. Some towns in the foothills, actually in the mountains though, are reporting 5 feet of snow. The highest total reported came from a little town in South Park (yes, there is a South Park Colorado, but it's an area not a town) was 86" as of 9:00 this morning.

Here's some more pics for those who want to see them.

Tragic for my kitties: This is the tree that used to be right outside our window where they watched birds and squirrels. It snapped right in half sometime last night.

That little thing sticking up in between the tree and the lightpost? That's a No Parking sign, about 7 feet tall, just to give you an idea of how much we got.

Obviously, that's the parking lot. The silver car is my Ford Tempo, the black one two down from it is our Volvo. I don't know if I will be able to go anywhere tomorrow with that much snow behind them!

We talked to our friends in Kodiak Alaska last night, and they have had NO snow! The Grizzlies didn't even hybernate this year and they are walking around the town looking dazed and confused and with a belly full of food they needed for hibernation burning off by this exercise, they are getting into mischief! How bizarre is that? Maybe Heidi, you could send them your snow?

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Heidi, I'm so glad you guys are OK!!! WOW! That's a lot of snow!!! It is so beautiful (at first). But so much of it.... WOW. !!!!!

Thankfully (because I'm sick of Winter already!), it was in the 40s here, and it is again today. I think we're expecting some rain soon - but it's sunny right now!

OMG! I can't believe all the snow you got! Thank goodness it didnt come my way at all. I really hate snow, except when i don't have to go out in it and I can just look at how pretty it is. It looks like you guys won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Sarah! I never see you any more. Did it take a huge snowfall to bring you, or have you and I been on different threads?

Heidi, are you still off work? Ahhhh, poor baby!
If so, you must be upset.
