Hello,
I was hoping I could get some advice on what to do for my poor kitty Monty who is always in the litter box these days squatting. This has been going on for a few weeks and I took him (and a urine sample) to the vet to be checked out. They said that he has struvite crystals.
They gave me some pain medication for him which I ran out of at the beginning of last week. He's also on amoxicillin which he will run out of tonight. He is also on Royal Canin prescription Control formula cat food.
After his first dose of pain meds ran out he was in the box all the time again and so I brought him back to the vet. They had him radiographed and found out that he has no stones in his bladder. We are also certain that he doesn't have a blockage, but rather just a LOT of crystals.
They put him on the pain meds again and so he was doing fine again. But, now he is back using his box all the time (he's in it more than not!). I don't know what to do. They just want to keep giving him pain meds and hope that it goes away but I am running out of money because I am preparing him (and Bootsie) to move to the UK (not cheap) in September. I would really like for him to be better by this time.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
