i have a hiding place
for me, food wise, my confessions:

-- chocolate bars (which i don't usually eat, but have been craving lately)

-- refined sugars (in coffee, tea, cola, in my diet all over the place right now !) i really need to cut sugar out.

-- last week i had french fries and a cheese burger
i never do that, i don't even like beef ! just an irresistible craving

-- too much cheese (cheese pizza) in my diet, too many pasta dishes

-- pancakes

beverage wise, well, COFFEE is the big number one. i'd like to cut it out completely, but i'm content with just cutting down for the time being. i don't drink any hard alcohol (well, it's rare) and only occasionally drink beer (even though i have a special place in my heart for certain brews). i love red wines/cannot resist em!...

i've actually gained about 5 pounds in the past 6 months or possibly less (it seemed to happen so fast) which is okay by me but still a bit of an adjustment..

let me also counter those foods with the fact that i eat a ton of fruit and vegetables, everyday, i'm eating more fish and i drink gallons of water !

that's all that comes to mind, right now.. you ?

feeling guilty (but still love food),

I am going insane over chocolate. Chocolate biscuits, drinks, cereal bars with chocolate, natural chocolate, chocolate covered sweets, sweets with chocolate in the centres . . . .

I could go on, but you catch my drift I'm sure :-)

Too much cake and pie. People kept bringing me birthday cake and pie and I just kept eating it... Oooops. But I'm trying to counter it will really long bikerides and walks, and *mostly* good food. But I have to let myself have one treat (like cookies or something) everyday.
I like sweets way too much, unfortunetly.

Movin' on up!
Chocolate is not bad for you. Eating a bit of chocolate, 30 minutes before a meal can actually help you eat less. It, also, contains theobromines (sp?) that stimulate the production of endorphins, improving your mood and alleviating pain.

As for "bad for me" foods: I got into the nacho cheese and tortilla chips, today. Actually, though, the jalapenos help my arthritis (those endorphins, again).

Carbs are my downfall. Pasta, bread, all that. I don't crave sweets very often, so at least I don't have 2 strikes against me! My other kinda-bad-for-me treat was that I bought 2 pounds of roasted salted peanuts. But, but, but they were only $1/pound!!

Yola, at least you have an excuse for the cravings. You're pregnant!
