oK my two cats are litter mates. they've been together since birth. Jada had surgery so she had to stay over night at the vet. when my husband brought her back her sister Bella started hissing and doing that growling noise cats do. She has been doing this since Wednesday!! I dont understand why she is doing that to her. Every time Jada walks near Bella hisses. She even hissed at my husband. The thing is Bella was NEVER like this. Its a totally different cat!! What could be making her do this? Doesnt she know its Jada and smell her scent?? Need advice!!

Jada doesn't smell like herself, right now - she smells like the vet & the anesthesia. that's why Bella's reacting like that. it will eventually go away - you can speed things along a bit by 'mixing' their scents. you can also try putting vanilla under both their tails & the tops of their heads.
but even if you do nothing, it'll eventually stop. always has w/mine.

If the vanilla doesn't work, then sprinkle them both with cornstarch baby powder in their coats and rub it in good

Good job! If either of our cats have to go to the vet for their yearly checkups, we take both of them even though only one is being seen. That way they both smell the same. Naturally if one were having surgery such as a spay we wouldn't be able to do that but for regular visits we do. It also seems to help keep the one being seen by the vet a little more comfortable having their "mate" there with them.
