It sounds like an unlikely combination doesn't it!
But, it works.

For anybody who enjoys all three, but especially Rigel (Coolcat) and Tracey (MissMew) who enjoy Motor Racing and Planes respectively here is my favourite ad of the moment (for a brand of chocolate).

Just after the last plane of the night takes off, all the "toys" at the airport come out to play

Enjoy!

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Excellent background music, too, Beth!
Now who would have thought this would be an advert for chocolate! Hmmm, suddenly I have a taste for a nice Cadbury Bar
Thanks for sharing this!

I know - I don't know what it has to do with chocolate, but as I have a great liking for chocolate, Queen and motor racing the ad couldn't be better for me.

Hmmmm a little bar of Dairy Milk along with a cup of tea - now there's a thought

This was fabulous - just don't try to repeat it
Now I know why I always feel so nervous when I put that plane seatbelt on. Boy racer pilots!

It was such a funny video Fwan, even though I couldn't understand the German, somehow it transcended the language barrier

Hola Rigel

I'll be watching the next race - if my son lived a bit closer to Barcelona, I'd be able to get out there! He lives near to Valencia, so we may be able to get out there for the European Grand Prix later in the year

That was a brilliant duel between Michael Schumacher and Mikka Hakkinen - fabulous driving Hakkinen

I have some photos of the Monte Carlo circuit (a few weeks after the Grand Prix) I'll see if I can find them and upload them for you.

At long last, the pictures I said I would find for Rigel of the Monte Carlo Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit in Monaco. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve tried to give a bit of explanation to the photos of well for anybody who watches the race and might recognise the parts of the circuit. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll post it over a couple of posts so it isnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t too long.

These photos were taken about 5 years ago. We were there about 2 months after the Grand Prix took place, so none of the trappings are present, the street circuit is doing its day job – being ordinary roads. You can still see some of the circuit though, such as the raised red and white kerbs and the start/finish line. We walked the entire length of the circuit and then later drove it (as far as that is possible) in a not so speedy hire car.

This link takes you to the F1 official siteâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s circuit map if anyone would like to see where the various photos are located on the circuit.

Starting at the start-finish line (the green dot on the circuit map) You can just see the chequered start-finish line on the road The direction that the traffic is taking in this photo is the same as the direction the race cars travel

Here is turn one – known as Sainte Devote

This is the statue of Sainte Devote after whom the corner is named – the little chapel holding the Saintâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s remains is just back from the road at this corner

After leaving Sainte Devote, the cars head off up the hill towards the Casino – about halfway up the hill, on the right is a great place to have a pizza overlooking the harbour. On the map, this is the part between turns 1 and 3

This is the view that faces them at the top of the hill

The cars turn sharp left at turn 3 and negotiate around Casino square. In this shot, you can see the Casino square – it is taken from the road that forms part of the circuit – we are standing roughly where the dot for Turn 4 is.

Straight ahead you can see the Casino building. To the right of the picture as we look at it is where the cars enter the square at Turn 3, they drive towards where we took to take this picture, then turn right of head off towards the left of the picture

Then itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s down towards the hotel and Loews hairpin at Turn 6. Directly in front of us in the next picture is the Hotel and we are looking at Turn 6. The cars come down the hill towards the hotel, then sharp, sharp left and along the road that you can see in the photo towards the bottom of the hill at bottom left of the picture. It was so impressive to still see the tyre marks from the racing cars on the red and white kerbs.

After they negotiate the hairpin, they head down towards the sea and the tunnel underneath the Loews hotel – here we are just at the mouth of the tunnel. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s amazing – they flash through this tunnel in seconds going from bright sunlight, to dark tunnel, to bright sunlight in the blink of an eye. It took us quite a bit longer to walk through it. We were standing roughly where Turn 8 is indicated on the map.

Then, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s out the other side of the tunnel into the harbour area – we were standing roughly where the yellow dot is on the circuit map and the road is just to the right of the photo

Then itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s into the swimming pool complex at turn 13 – this statue is one of those iconic features of the circuit

This is a long section of the circuit and one of the fastest, where the cars can really get some speed as they head alongside the harbour – here is a view of it taken from above the town. You can probably make out the long row of low buildings on the other side of the road from the swimming pool and the harbour – the harbour is one side of the racetrack and those buildings are the other. The cars drive from the top of the picture towards the bottom.

Thereâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s another view of it here

Then, the make a sharp turn at La Rascasse around this building known as The Pitstop CafÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]. This is the place where Michael Schumacher had an incident in the qualifying session that led to his car stopping at the side of the circuit and him being punished for disrupting the session a couple of years ago. Again, the cars come from left to right and then head off behind the cafÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] into the pits if they wish to make a stop

After that, for those cars carrying on, they head off back to the start/finish line.
