Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Description
A chocolate and nut combination that everyone will really love.

Ingredients Nutritional Information

2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1 teaspoon ARM & HAMMERÂ[emoji]174[/emoji] Baking Soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup softened margarine or butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (peanuts, walnuts or pecans)

You'll have to convert it, because we yanks have shirked the metric system.

Here is a link to the ever-famous Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe!
http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipe....aspx?ID=18476

Not sure if you've got the Nestle Toll House chocolate chips over there, but this recipe is on the back of every bag sold here and it can't be beat! I take the easy way out most times now though and by their pre-made dough and just plop it on the cookie sheet and cook haha

The key to gooey goodness is taking them out when the edges are just turning brown. They tend to continue to cook a bit, so if you let the tops get brown, the cookies will be crunchy...still good, but if you want gooey, you have to take them out sooner.

To get my cookies gooey, I prefer to use real butter instead of margarine or shortening. I also take my cookies out of the oven a little early, so they don't get crunchy.

Here's a great recipe link, where you can search for cookie recipes. http://www.astray.com/recipes/

My favorite cookies are Oatmeal Scotchies.

1½ cup All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Cinnamon (I usually use a little more!)
1 cup Butter, softened
¾ cup Granulated sugar
¾ cup Firmly packed brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
3 cup Quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
1 pack NESTLE Toll House butterscotch flavored morsels (12 oz)

Preheat oven to 375'F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; set aside. In large mixer bowl, beat butter, granulated sygar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats and Nestle Toll House butterscotch flavored morsels. Drop by measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7-8 minutes for chewier cookies (9-10 minutes for crisper cookies). Remove from cookie sheets; cool completely. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

If you like Oatmeal Raisin cookies (my other all time favorite) just substitute 1 1/2 cups of raisins for the butterscotch morsels. I use the shorter (7 - 8 minute) baking time for chewy cookies. I also make bigger cookies, about double the size...just because I like bigger cookies!

Yumm.....I think I might have to bake some this weekend!

Sorry, you will need to translate the proportions to metric:

Chocoholic Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Cream together:\t
1 cup butter, softened
\t\t1 cup sugar
\t\t1 cup brown sugar

Add:\t\t
2 eggs
\t\t1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together:\t
2 cups flour
\t\t2-1/2 cups oatmeal (put small amounts
in blender (after measuring) until it
turns to powder.
\t\t½ tsp. salt
\t\t1 tsp. baking powder
\t\t1 tsp. baking soda

Mix together all ingredients and add:

\t\t12 oz bag chocolate chunks
\t\t6 oz bag chocolate chips
\t\t1 Hershey Big Block bar, grated
\t\t1-1/2 cup nuts (I prefer pecans)

Make golf ball size cookies, 2 inches apart on ungreased
cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Makes
about 50.
