Thought I'd post piccies of my pets!

Right now I have 2 cats, 1 dog and :counts: 12 gerbils (4 are pups that have are going to new homes soon enough)

Stanley, my DSH who turns 4 next month.
He's pretty huge, IMO. Not fat, but weighs about 18 lbs! He's very affectionate and loves to knead my head every morning! Another one of Stanley's Special talents is knocking things off of tables. Pretty annoying talent!

Here's our baby Raymond. He's a 4 month old Chocolate Siamese we bought him this Spring. Him and Stanley are just starting to get along. I've been away at college shortly after we brought him home, so I only get to hear stories and see pictures, but from what I understand, he is a typical, energetic, clownish and affectionate Siamese.

Here's Abby, my 5 year old Golden Retriever. She's very smart, sweet and loves everybody. Her and Stanley are buddies too, and Raymond is warming up to her!

Then there are the gerbils...
Aggie, my 12 week old Nutmeg

Boris and Harmonica, one of my breeding pairs

Their current pups, before they opened their eyes

Clark, my 12 week old Color Point Nutmeg (Aggie's brother)

Darwin, my 10 week old Siamese

Zo, bred my myself, a Color Point Golden Agouti

Garth, father to Boris and Zo

And here are just some cute pup pics from the past!

I love your gerbils. I've always had a soft stop for them.
Since you seen to be very knowledgable about them, I was wondering if you might be able to tell me the correct color term for my two girls. I hope you don't mind.

Loki is a Dove, and unless Caramel has a white belly, she's a Saffron ;-)

Very pretty girls!

Awww...everyone is sooo cute! Love the gerbils.I used to have a gerbil named Ember.I don't know if I would ever have another gerbil tho.

Just curious...you said Darwin was siamese...but that color is burmese when it comes to rats and I wondered if it was the same when it comes to gernil coloring.Siamese is usually a cream body with dark points (like your cat for example).I used to breed seal point siamese rats.

But I could be way wrong, but it looks burmese to me! I dunno maybe gerbils are different. But if that was a ratty,it would be burmese!

Just my two cents.
Thanks for sharing the pics!

In Gerbils there are Siamese and Burmese...

Here's a gerbil I used to have named Hankie. He's Burmese...

Here's another picture of Darwin... The Siamese

The Siamese have more defined points and a lighter body. The Color Point Genes are c[chm] and c[h]. A Burmese is c[chm]c[chm] and a Siamese is c[chm]c[h]. They're similar but the c[h] lightens more :-)

I hope that explained

Thats why I thought Darwin was burmese. But I don't know much about gerbils anyway and the colors they come in.The one I had was black and the stores here onlly sell agouti, black and grey!

Anyway sorry for hijacking...
