not sure if this was asked before...
I did a quick search ..
but yesterday...
Salem was out back..with me...
he's on a leash so he cant walk that far..
I was reading my book on the back steps..
and he stepped in some gum...and he's got some on his back leg...
I got some of it off...
but how do you remove the rest???

Is it like on his leg or stuck in among his foot pads?

If it's just on his leg, like an easily accessible area, the quickest/easiest/least stressful way to remove it would probably be to carefully cut it out of his fur - he'll have a little bald spot, but it'll grow back... I wouldn't know what to do if it's in his pads though... I've heard everything from peanut butter to ice cubs for getting gum out of hair, but I'm not sure what of those "home remedies" actually work... hopefully someone else would know

It sounds like it could easily be cut out (if you can keep him calm for it) or if you have clippers, could be shaved out... you'll probably need a holder and a clipper and you may need to make a kitty burrito with a towel or blanket... maybe snapping a pic if possible might help us give you the best way to get it out

Try peanut butter on it and rub it on and around the gum. The oils should work it loose. If the cat is longhair and that doesn't help, then you can cut it off. If short hair you'll have to work it out little by little.

Next time watch out for those gum monsters
