It looks like Jack will need to have surgery for his slipping knee caps. I am to wait one more week to make sure he doesn't recover without the surgery, but it doesn't look promising. Cage rest was mentioned, I have never had occasion to need to do that with any cat. So I thought I would get some suggestions.

1. Is there a particular recommended sort of cage?
2. How much space should he have?
3. Should he be near by everything going on or off where its quiet (He usually follows me all day everyday)
4. Anything I can do to keep him from getting too bored and/or bummed out.

I am not looking forward to this at all... poor kitty

Of course my major concern is that I don't pick anything or do anything to make matters worse.

Thanks!

A large dog cage should be fine as long as there is no shelves in it for jumping. You want enough room to put a litter box in there and the cat not have to lay next to the pan.
