Hello. I am the owner of 5 cats. All are outdoor cats. My 5 year old male cat mounts and humps my 1 year old male. Neither have been neutered. My oldest male has fathered many kittens and none of my females or females in my area are in heat right now. He has been doing this for along time now. The younger cat doesn't seem to mind at all. They are very friendly toward each other. I have tried separating them but my younger cat meows until they are reunited. Has anyone heard of this kind of behavior before?

I can't say that I have ever had that problem but all of my animals are spayed/neutered. You should really have your cats neutered or spayed, especially if they are outdoors. Despite kittens being cute, the world already has way more kittens than there are homes for them.

P.S. Welcome to TCS!

'humping' is dominance to cats (and other animals). Please get your cats fixed, especially if outdoors. If you live in the US, there are many low cost or even free spay/neuter programs.

My Cleo used to do this to his brother during mating season. He is neutered but is clearly more tomcat than Seldon. He has even sprayed once. It is not homosexual behavior. It is dominance behavior.

Please take the suggestion about neutering and spaying.
