Guess what I'm reading?

There seem to be so many other games, I'll start another.
When somebody gets it right, they submit what they are reading with clues.
Here are my clues:

under section blah blah United States Code, section blah blah, on the ground that the book is obscene with the meaning of that Section, and, hence, is not importable into the United States, but is subject to seizure, forfeiture and confiscation and destruction.

That was in 1933. Now it is rated the third best book ever written in history after Don Quijote and War and Peace. Like the aforementioned, it is a big book.

I want to guess Gone with the Wind... timing is right and it was kinda considered 'dirty' from what I've heard... hhmmm.... will have to think on it more... of course Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged is also massive and was considered controversial...

Yeah... after I posted, I noticed the 'is not importable into the US' bit... Ulysses makes sense...

Nope. Hint 1: This book is not American. Remember it was not allowed to be imported into the U.S. It was a crime to have a copy of this in the U.S. before 1933.

Hmm, it isn't "Ulysses" by James Joyce?

It's a great book, and the only one that I'm aware of that caused such a stir.

All I can say is I thought this was going to go longer.

While we're waiting...what is Ulysses about? Why controversial? I'm intrigued...

I'm currently reading some James Patterson novels. He's got dozens of books out so I'll be reading his for a while. I tend to find an author that I like, and read everything they've written before moving onto another author.

I finished a Vince Flynn novel called "To Serve and Protect". It's a CIA thriller. You tend to have to read them in the order they were written though to get the most out of the books.

That is so weird that you should bring up Vince Flynn!! I just finished reading "Act of Treason"! I'd never read one of this guy's books, and I was at the library - (I use the library alot....I save alot of money that way) - and randomly picked out this book and thought it looked good. Mitch Rapp rocks!

I've read "Season of the Machete" and "Cradle and All" so far.

There is one that I don't see listed called "Jericho Project". I just couldn't get into it. It's a work of fiction, yet there are actual real photographs through out the book, so I think it's based on fact with a fictional twist. Eitherway I just couldn't grasp what I was reading and put it aside.

Ok, the book I am reading is probably going to be a hard one... I dont imagine anyone here has read it before - so it's probably a good Google-candidate

My book is an autobiography. I received it as a gift when we went on Joshua's Make-A-Wish trip in Florida, authored by the guy that founded the "Village" we stayed at.

The author was born in Germany, is a Holocaust survivor and today is a successful entrepreneur with a heart of gold.

What am I reading???

The name of "The Village" is Give Kids the World.

The book I am reading is a collection of essays about daily life at Pine Ridge Reservation. I just love the way this man writes - lots of humor and honesty all rolled together.

(Not sure how many hints I should give?)

I know this book! Very well written, you feel like you're there and, you're right, very humorous!
