My computer key board gets so dirty and the spaces between the keys accumulates cat hair despite my best efforts to keep it clean using a Swiffer Duster. Usually once a week I drag a metal nail file horizontally between the rows of keys while vacuuming it in order to get some of the hair out. But to clean the keys vertically is difficult because the keys are off set from one another.

Yesterday I got to thinking that there has to be a better way than to remove the keys and put them all back on. I thought a small brush of some sort would be ideal. Then it dawned on me that those dental picks (proxabrushes) would probably be great.

I picked up one today and OMG! It works like a total charm. They are flexable and bend so you can go around the keys in all directions and get under them too. I cleaned the key board on Tuesday using my nail file, and today I used the dental pick, and got so much hair that I missed.

I bought the "Buttler G.U.M. Proxabrush Trav-ler" with the tapered brush. It was only $4.00 at the pharmacy.

Ack! That should say "Smart", not "smark!" LOL Can a mod change that please? I tried to edit but it won't change the actual thread title.

I've changed it. That's a really smart idea, Linda. Cat hair tends to get stuck in my notebook keyboard, even though it's closed when not in use. I always have those little dental brushes around, and will definitely try them.

Under the cats, mostly.
I've actually had a go at it this evening.... but I couldn't get them under the cat. I think I may have to wait a little while. At least until the keyboard cools down a bit

Canned air blows stuff all over the place, this soft brush works like a charm. It got all of the hair out from between my keys including the very fine ones that stick to everything because of static. It can't damage your keyboard because it's gentle enough to use on your gums.

I would have never thought to use one of those, but I could imagine they'd work well. I'll have to give one a try, my keyboard is filthy.
