"Are you being served?" I think. Good fun. Also Fawlty Towers. Also Mr Bean. Also The Vicar of Dibley. Also Good Neighbours. Also To the Manor Born. Also Waiting for God. And a whole bunch more, but my brain is dead at the moment.

I remember one where they work in a clothing store - The Fast Show
"Suit you sir!"

Probably isn't what you were looking for, but still funny.

I watched the Vicar of Dibley last night, it was the one with Dibley Radio, and the Dibley quiz that Alice Tinker won.

Yeah, that's what I wad referring to

I do apologize if somebody got offended, it was just a simple question but it's nice to see views from you there. I'd definitely hope to be there some day, especially in London
Yes, a lot of people are football mad, but I know very few people who bet on it. Most fans just follow their team, buy the shirts, cry when their team loses. Much like the American baseball fans for example. I wouldn't think of England as a particularly gambling country, if at all. In the nicest possible way you have a very warped view of England, it is totally wrong. Why not visit and then decide.

If any of you brits have a decent recipe for batter I'd be forever in your debt.
OH easy peasy, I can send you the one we used to use in our famous chippie

No, that isn't the one and I still can't think of the name. It's so easy I can't think of it.

Think about, oh, let's say Vegas? And at least we Brits don't all have firearms in our homes for "protection". Wouldn't you say that would also be an unfair judgement?

FYI, the OP, if I'm remembering correctly, wasn't raised in the US, but in Israel...he's only been here about a year. This view he has expressed is his...I've lived in the US my entire life, and never heard anyone express that view of the UK. The OP isn't the only one making assumptions, huh?

Ah but if you actually READ my post you will see that I used the "firearms in homes for "protection" " line as an example of a stereotype - it's not MY view of the states, because I've never been there to be able to make that judgement, but it IS a view taken by many many people worldwide. I did also state that it is an UNFAIR JUDGEMENT. Maybe if you read it again, you will see what my point was.

I did get your point. My point was that there was another assumption...especially in light of the jabs taken at the US.
