My RB cats Miles and Taffy would lie for hours with their "arms" wrapped around each other. Miles was a year old when we adopted Taffy, who at the time was about 6 weeks old (according to the vet). He had just lost his foster-sister Peaches, and he adopted Taffy right away as his kitten. They were inseparable till Miles went over the Bridge in 2004. Taffy joined him in 2006, and I'm sure they've found some comfy sunbeam and are hugging each other there.
