Macy has always panted a bit after a lot of running and playing. I had her checked out by the vet, and they reassured me that everything is fine. The past couple of days I've noticed that at times her breathing is very rapid and that she will start panting out of nowhere.
I think I should bring her back to the vet right? Panting while relaxing just doesn't seem right? Has anyone else had this occur with their cats? Just wondering. Thanks

I agree, it doesn't seem right. Time to get Macy re-examined. You may want to try a different vet though, since you mentioned that last time the vet couldn't find a cause for Macy's panting. A feline specialist can help rule out heart problems, asthma or other respiratory conditions. Panting not due to physical exertion can be serious, so you should get Macy seen by a vet ASAP.

Please let us know what the vet says. Good thoughts going out to Macy.

I agree - but are you sure it's panting - is there any possibility that she's seen a bird or squirrel and is "chattering?"

You should definitely get her checked out by a vet. It could be a very serious situation. Our cat that had a heart condition would pant or breathe rapidly.
